Big Trigg

Filmed between 2001 and 2004, this movie looks at some of the lives behind the lyrics of rap music during a time when it was still possible to "go platinum in the streets" Ride along with Big Trigg, Itchy Finga Sha, Foogie, K.O., and Skinnie Minnie as they roll from the streets of Brooklyn to L.A. in search of $$$$$$. After having several brushes with big time success in the 1990's, the Brooklyn based rappers who perform as MMO- (Money Makin' Outlaws, Money Members Only) struggle to maintain footing on both the city blocks they call home and the stage. Even though Bigg Trigg wrote songs for Shaquille O'Neil's debut album, and the group opened for the Wu Tang Clan and Notorious B.I.G., they were never able to parlay their street cred into careers. The film features an early Kanye West's visit to a local Brooklyn Club and one of the last pieces of footage shot of the late Ol' Dirty Bastard. Soon to be a cult classic, this is a must see for any hip-hop head who remembers the life and death of Gansta Rap.
